Winter is Still Here

Spring greeted by sad face of the sky.
The wind rages joking with the sky.
Black clouds pour out His gifts, bedabble the earth.
I think, cold is not going to go from the northern globe.
Winter is still here

Searching for the Tomb of Akşebe Sultan

It was end of summer last year, I and daughter went to Alanya castle again. This time for visitng the tomb of Akşebe Sultan. I read informations about location of this tomb on the internet. As usually I went to castle, I get on the bus no. 4 from the centrum. This time, I stop the bus at the junction that sign "Suleymaniye Cami".

I know Suleymaniye Cami and Bedesten. According to the infos, this tomb located near to Bedesten. But it was not easy to find this tomb :( We were lost.

Then we were to the junction again, carefully looking the signs of the arrow. But there is a missing chain I think. The arrows took us to the gate of inner castle. Walking back down.....finally we discover the tomb of Akşebe Sultan.

Here are the pics...

Alanya View from TEPE (The Peak)

It was Saturday (September 6th, 2014), I and daughter went to Tepe (the peak) by bus No. 5. Cloudy afternoon and the rain welcoming us at the top. It is 4 km distance from our home to Tepe. We were planning to have walking to our house from Tepe. We did it. But in the halfway, my husband's friend took us in her car. Lucky to get on that car. A few minutes later it was raining when we got home.

Here are the gorgeous view of Alanya that I took from Tepe :)

Alanya City Tips 2 - Where to Visit

The main place to visit is Alanya Castle. It is very easy to reach from city center (centrum). You can go by bus or on foot.

By bus: You can go on bus No. 4. from city center
On foot: You can go trough Işkele Cad. then up to Tophane mah. Walk through the narrow streets that seems like labyrinth. Be careful that you might be lost in there :D But it is fun.

My suggestion:
Going there by bus No. 4. Going back on foot through the labyrinth of Tophane (Tophane mah.)

Lost in Labyrinth of Tophane

Tophane is one of district in Alanya. It is located on the peninsula where Alanya castle stands.

I went to Tophane in the end of the spring this year. Although I live in Alanya since 2005 but this is the first time for me to have adventure in Tophane.

After excursion at citadel with my daughter, we decide to walk down to Tophane that located at the lower part of the peninsula. We went there to visit the old mosques that located in Tophane.

I didn't know that narrow streets in Tophane are look like the same one to each other. It's like a labyrinth. We got lost for few times in the mission to visit the mosques.

But finally we can visit Andızlı Mosque and Tahta Minareli Mosques after asking for directions to some people there.

Best view from Tophane
